Job Description

Koombea is looking for a DevOps Manager to join our development team. Your main goal is to lead a team of DevOps Engineers, be up to date with new technologies and standards and define processes and practices that our DevOps team should abide by. 

We are looking for a person who is fluent in english, and can communicate with our customers about the infrastructure implementation in their projects. You will design and share plans with the team, in alignment with the project’s goals.

In this role you will be concerned about your team’s expertise in new technologies and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain plans for implementation and maintenance of multiple cloud infrastructures for multiple projects.
• Work across multiple departments to coordinate planning, building and releasing and updating application infrastructures.
• Define, manage and optimize our CI/CD pipeline across multiple projects.
• Lay out and lead plans to boost the performance and reliability for production environments across multiple projects.
• Coordinate work during production outages and communicate mitigation plans.
• Continuously evaluate industry best practices, plan and lead improvements for our DevOps team.

Required Skills

• C1 English proficiency is mandatory
• Leadership/Management Skills:
  • Demonstrate experience leading a team of up to 10 DevOps Engineers.
• Strong experience with Linux Administration (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc).
• Knowledge about common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, SMTP, etc) and experience with network troubleshooting tools, e.g. Nmap, ping, ip, netstat, trace route.
• Experience with configuration management and infrastructure provisioning tools such as Chef, Ansible & Terraform.
• AWS Hand ons experience: EC2, EBS, AMI, Application Load Balancer, Target Group, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, Route 53, NAT Gateways, VPC Networking, CloudWatch.
• Able to deploy and maintain the following application stacks in a production environment:
  • Ruby on Rails
  • Laravel
  • NodeJS
  • Python
  • Wordpress
• Experience with CI/CD with strong preference of CircleCI.
• Experience with container technologies: Docker and AWS ECS.
• Strong scripting knowledge (Bash, Ruby, Python, Node, etc.)
• Hands on experience with data sources such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB etc.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, and team workflows such as Gitflow.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to find production issues.
• Open-minded people, willing to learn new topics and gather new skills.
